STAMPE SV4C PROJECT - £17,500 OIRO
|
Stampe SV4C No.242 project aircraft fitted with a Renault 4P-03 engine. G-AYGE requires repair following a low-speed nose-over during taxi, resulting in propeller damage and likely shock load inspection requirements.
Substantially complete aircraft with documented history and UK paperwork. Quotes already obtained suggest the aircraft could be returned to flying condition for less than £50,000 inclusive of purchase price. Gipsy Major 10-2 core engine and Hoffman propeller also available separately. Reluctantly offered for sale due to lack of time to complete the project. Replacement propeller
Shock load inspection likely required, subject to final engineering determination Associated inspection and remedial works following prop strike/nose-over incident Several quotes have already been obtained for the remedial work required. Based on the figures received, the aircraft could realistically be returned to flying condition for less than £50,000 inclusive of purchase price. A Gipsy Major 10-2 core engine and Hoffman propeller are also available by separate negotiation. |
Stampe SV4C No.242 project aircraft for sale. French-built aircraft fitted with a Renault 4P-03 engine with air starter. G-AYGE requires repair following a low-speed nose-over incident during taxi in gusty wind conditions. The aircraft tipped onto its nose at idle power and the propeller sustained damage requiring replacement. The mags were selected off during the incident. Avionics (radio & transponder) have been removed.
The aircraft is substantially complete and represents a straightforward project for someone familiar with vintage aircraft and LAA types. Stampe SV4C No.242 Registration: G-AYGE Renault 4P-03 engine Engine serial: 1221 Engine hours: 469:13 UK paperwork and history file included G-AYGE has a well-documented history, originally originally operating in France as F-BCGM with the Aéroclub de Gascogne at Marmande from 1946 as both a trainer and glider tug. The aircraft later came to the UK in 1970 and has passed through the ownership of several notable names in British aviation circles, including: Philip Meeson (5-time British Aerobatic Champion and later founder/CEO of Jet2), Amschel Rothschild and The Proudfoot family at Duxford. I am keen to see the aircraft returned to the air, however I have unfortunately run out of time to complete the project myself due to other commitments. The aircraft is offered as a project and sold as seen. Located in the UK.

The plane is in very good condition, is only kept in a hangar, has never had an accident and has been professionally always maintained by an aviation company. A complete L-file is included in the sale. I have owned the Stampe for 15 years and it has only been flown by myself. Since I now live in the USA, I unfortunately no longer have time to fly my Stampe and that is the reason for the sale. My Stampe is ready to fly! |
